KATY Trail Townhomes

Luxury Urban Townhomes On Dallas’ Katy Trail

Katy Trail Townhomes

I purchased this tiny sliver of multifamily (MF2) land in the late 1990s from the world famous chef (and the only chef I ever knew) Stephan Pyles. He purchased this parcel to build his own home but later decided to build on a much larger tract. I bought the land from Stephan in 1999 to build a spec home.

However, with the demand for high density attached urban housing skyrocketing, I sought to replat the land and build townhomes. I again replatted the property using flag lots to build attached townhomes on this 44×150 sliver of multifamily land.

The property backed up to the old Texas MKT Railroad, but which would soon become the Katy Trail Greenbelt, a 3.5 mile long, 30-acre greenbelt. The three-story townhouse project achieved 19.8 dwelling units per acre. All three townhomes were built spec and all three sold prior to completion.
