Shantiniketan Phase Four

Shantiniketan Phase Four is a niche retirement community that was designed and built specifically to serve immigrants from the Indian subcontinent. It was the fourth Shantiniketan project in Tavares, Florida and the second phase developed at Shantiniketan Village.

Shantiniketan Village is an 800 unit, $220 million, multi-phase, multi-species active adult senior living community comprised of active adult condominiums, zero-lot-line homes, for-rent multifamily, and an assisted living facility with memory care units developed on 103-acres.

Shantiniketan Phase One through Phase Three only offered two-bedroom condominiums for married couples. All 120 condo units at Shantiniketan Phase Three were identical to each other right down to the 1,70 square foot, two-bedroom floor plan and the exact same paint color in each condo. With Phase Three priced from $255,000 to $285,000 for 1,170 square feet, the owner felt that he should build Phase Four for single Indian retirees.

Like the first three phases, Shantiniketan Phase Four was designed by Rabits & Romano Architecture with the same regimented, design scheme. As with each of the previous three phases, Shantiniketan Phase Four offered only one floor- plan. Each of the 320 one-bedroom condominiums was the identical 600 square foot, one-bedroom unit with prices starting at $125,000.

As with all prior Shantiniketan projects, in addition to 320 single-story, one-bedroom condominiums, Phase Four offers virtually no community amenities, although it may some day include a community swimming pool. As with prior phases, Shantiniketan Phase Four relied on its offering of Indian vegetarian food where residents get lunch and dinner every day as part of a monthly fixed-price meal plan to entice Indian immigrants to purchase the condominiums.
